[06 Mar 2006|11:41pm] pretty unbelievable. josh clark called me up this afternoon to remind me of the secret silver jews show at the end this evening, so we met up there, and it was unbelievable. everyone was in jovial spirits, the music was fantastic and free, i was standing near lou barlow (sebadoh) for a few moments, there was talk of stephen malkmus in the house, bobby bare, and not to mention dave berman on stage. all in one confined crowded room, essentially. my high school dreams of seeing members of most of my favorite broken up bands all congealed together tonight. amazing. after the show, we went to the family wash (closed) and then to on the edge, which was packed with east nashvillians- four of us drank yazoo and played music trivia, winning nothing. altogether, a socially successful night. i found out today that the road to sxsw is getting harder for me to traverse. the money this month is tight, and my free press pass wound up being a gently discounted press pass, which adds major expense to my attendence, one of which, i doubt the magazine will cover, since i'm aiming at attending the interactive/film portions, and little of the music portions. i was looking forward to the texas trip, but barriers keep rising up. i'm trying to not get too entirely bummed. tomorrow evening, i will know if i leave or stay come wednesday morning. tomorrow's work day is quite full, i have a bit on my plate. meetings in the late morning, and going to visit isle of printing in the afternoon with robert. i also have a major flaming lips spread this issue, which is fantastic, but frightful. we sift through the photographs and begin layout tomorrow. looking back: i've been pretty sick this weekend, slept quite a bit, but managed to go see local bands girls and boys (with umbrella tree) play at the end. good to definitely get out, i miss watching live music, i seem to not get out as much. i experienced a completely unfamiliar nashville crowd which was a relief. this city is so small, every public place i go to, no kidding, i recognize a face. i'm sure many can attest to this.
