Death Carried on the Back of the Innocent- Ben Kehoe
Just received the print I ordered from Ben Kehoe's Tiny Showcase debut. I'm going to frame it's little bitty creepy cuteness and hang it on my bathroom wall. He has some other fantastic paintings and prints on his website, all of which I pretty much want to own and hang on my wall.
My weekend was good.. Your typical memorial day extended weekend filled with sunburn, cookouts, and mosquito bites. Tennessee's humidity is coming in full vengeance, I can already feel it. My hatchshow prints are peeling off my kitchen walls.
Old pal Jonny Corndawg was in town Saturday- A group of us, after Joe's cookout, went to the show at the Springwater to see him play. It turned into a grand time, playing pool and drinkin' ponies. Caitlin Rose sang the last song of his set with him, and everyone was stomping their heels.
I started my WRVU training this weekend as well. I'll be assisting/co-hosting/programing until I have my own radio show hopefully by the end of the summer, early fall. I'm hoping for a good time, like after work or lunchtime. Cross your fingers.
Our desires to go float down rivers on Monday were thwarted due to rain and thunder. This will commence, however, alot this summer. Lucy and I are taking kayaking courses at the Nantahala in July on the weekends- this gives me a bit to look forward to..
Other things coming up: Birthdays, weddings, cookouts, art and music shows. Going to the mountains via Asheville and Knoxville this weekend for Durango Festival (for work) and to visit my sister and her new puppy. Memphis the next weekend for a big birthday gathering for my grandmother's 85th. Finishing up my drawing for Jeremy's lil art show in Portland. Trying to find an art space soon, hopefully, to spread out. Brigadiers playing the Bobbie's Dairy Dip blockparty in late June. Recording homespun EP in July/August with some cohorts. Hopefully a few trips including New York, to partake in Coney Island's Astroland's last summer of operation.
More to come..
