Halloween was actually alot of fun. I was somewhat stressed at the thought of having people over after only a week or so of living in the new house, but our Spooky Spook party was jumpin', filled with friends old and new.. and Michelle Branch even. Yes, Michelle Branch. She was a friendly vampire.
Hung out post-party with some of my new favorite fellows, including M. Brandon Morgan. He's going to invest a tiny bit and share my studio space with me, once I'm unpacked and the like. It will be fun for him to be around the house.
Laid around the house yesterday, sleeping (recovering) and reading.. brunch with Nichole and co. at Jackson's.. she's in town from London til January, and I'm pleased she'll be around for a bit. Eveningtime led me to a meet up for drinks at 3 Crow with LT/Damon and co., which carried on til the 3 am closing time. While there, I visited with Ian and Cason for a bit, who were perched at a table drinkin' with John Prine. JOHN PRINE. I love Nashville.
Went hiking in the pretty hills of Percy Warner park this morning with Colleen, and enjoyed the gorgeous autumn day via the porch at Bongo Java and walks to Chelsey's and tonight, to Hillsboro Village, where I'm stealing the internet via Fidos.
Busy week ahead, including completion of my psychedelia-induced illustrated cover, inspired mainly from Cream's 1967 album cover of Disraeli Gears.
The new issue of American Songwriter hits the stands this week. The Killers are on the cover, and frankly, it's the purtiest one yet. Many thanks to Rae, who helped me out immensely as my right-hand design (wo)man.
This might be a bit pre-emptive to mention, but I'm having a hard time containing my excitement over a series of freelance projects I recently started working on.. pro bono in a sense, but I can wave that issue, since it's for Lewis Hollow and Jeremy Enigk. I've been having mini heartattacks every time I realize it. Furthermore, I'll be travelling to Seattle and NYC off and on from now til February, so heads up to you folks in those cities. More on this soon.
I'm going to head home and work on some art, y'all. Happy November.
